Yea! I finally received my cost of living increase in my social security and my check only went down $16.00 this time. At the rate this going i will be paying them SC in the near future. Gee if they would return the money borrowed from the fund it would not have any problem paying what it should be paying.

Remember when folks made fun of Gore for wanting to put SS in a lock box?

Let me guess - Medical went up higher than cost of living did right? Same here.

Social Security and Medicare are both crappy programs. We'd be better off with personal savings programs such as are found in Chile and Australia.

@MissKathleen Nothing is "stolen" from the Trust Fund. It is invested in the safest investment there is, US Bonds. The problem is when it began there were +/- 15 workers for every retiree, today there are less than two. It is not sustainable.

@jeshuey Wrong money was removed and used in the general fund and has never been returned. 2. How can there be less workers when most households now have two people working toi make ends meet. 3 the population has grown since SS was started how can there be less workers?

Someone has to pay for trumpski’s golf weekend and secret service for all the members of his family on thier weekly trips to Russia.
I hope you realize I’m being sarcastic. It’s a shame our seniors have to always suffer for governments poor money management.
