I guess the big topic on my agenda today is I am tired of talking to myself. I love a good conversation, but my responses are too damn predictable. It would be nice to be surprised. I have had other people with whom to interrelate before and it was good. Maybe I should give that another try.

Today is Boxing Day which was traditionally the day when British servants recevied their annual salary and got left overs from their employers. It has nothing to do with boxing but has always been a big day for sport. Especially boxing.

Are alien babies still people, do they have souls, and if so, do they have gun rights? Inquiring minds want to know. I want to know.

@MissKathleen I'm pretty sure Fox News says only liberal wackos say alien babies shouldn't have guns in schools. The only defense against an evil alien baby with a death ray is a good alien baby with a gun.

Try texting or messaging yourself. This the way we communicate with each other now days, much to my chagrin. That is the way it is though.

That sounds fair, I read 4 lines and I'm already tired of talking to you.

J/k "Surprise!" Jazz Hands

Is that good or bad

I like jazz hands

Thank you

Do you mean conversations in real time, like face to face? You're having problems finding someone suitable to converse with over dinner, for example? What's holding you back? A lack of acceptable conversational partners? Insecurity, introversion, or something else? No lack of people to have a virtual conversation with on this site, in this thread alone, so start there, and if you want to kick it up a notch to face-to-face conversations, this is good practice. Good luck, partner.

Thank you!

I’ll be “here” if you need me. Ha ha!

I'm as opinionated as it gets. Toss out a topic. 🙂

What’s your take on active militant atheism, Richard Dawkins style,
with the provision of keeping in check the abusers of power,

We just need to act,
and I think involves a marketing and sales approach, in an engineered way .

More on that lates.

In other news,
The Dunning Kruger effect .
Continue to make yourselves familiar with this as I am . Think about it every day

All (most?) all humans are susceptible to this effect so we must, as I do, keep ourselves in check with
auto-extra-perspective,
provided by ourselves
to prevent contamination by a real live
extra point of you .
Point-of-view
Extra eckstra

Maybe in this -level Socioanthropomorphic world, we can use all of the, useable, perspectives available.

@skinnymcfatty If you look at the work of Edward Nuhfer, particularly the paper "Random Number Simulations Reveal How Random Noise Affects the Measurements and Graphical Portrayals of Self-Assessed Competency". Numeracy. 9 (1) you will see how Dunning Kruger is challenged and that the prominence of the effect in others' overestimated self-perception, is not as high as suggested. Nuhfer does, however, acknowledge that an expert is more aware of their of their abilities than novices

@Geoffrey51
Thank you i will

@skinnymcfatty Regarding militant atheists: I think they are counterproductive to converting believers to atheism. Believers, when faced with aggressive opposition, slam those little minds even further shut than they were before. Militant atheists are who they use to promote their "persecution" argument. Militant atheism will never be my style. That being said, I'm very glad there are militant atheists, but only for the sake of us nonbelievers. Sometimes we need a fire lit under our butts.

Throw out a topic. Lots of viewpoints here I think. What do you think of Steely Dan? Music therapy for pain here today.

When I was younger, I hated Steely Dan. Now I can't get enough of them. I have all the albums and listen to them all the time.

@Orbit Next phase some Rolling Stones. Might be some AC/DC for an energy boost for doing drudgery as I power through f...... pain.

I've been on and off Steely Dan - but I really want a pair of high heeled sneakers.

My sarcasm turns ofg a lot of people.
But l think to myself, if they weren't so damn stupid, I would not be so sarcastic.

Good thing I have learned to control the outbursts.
I really need my job.

Sarcasm is a subtle form of lying.

Unrelated:
Read the Wikipedia on the Dunning Kruger effect and then listen to what I say

When you identify stupid behavior, imagine that we are all frustrated when witnessing societies, lowering the bar so that we can accommodate lowest common denominators.

I have a few ideas.

I’m sure we’ll think of something

@skinnymcfatty well, isn't that just brilliant.

@Al-Bundy_59

Good job.
I sense sarcasm as well as complimentary.
Real good job on maintaining neutral stance as to avoid any collateral damage or game .

So Aloof

How passé

How boring

How perfectly human

Dunning Kruger helps here too

But - What the phoque do I know

So I take it that you might be thinking of breaking up with yourself?

Just ready to meet and see other you’s.
I get that I’ve been in a love hate relationship with myself for over 40 years and man it gets tough especially when I catch myself looking at other people.

It’s like “ am I just not good enough for myself anymore? “ i know that I’m not the same me that I was 20 years ago but I’m still that same wonderful person but with just a little bit more and a little bit less.?

So I guess that I do understand where you’re coming from and I hope that you do find someone better than yourself JG I really do.

I have tried to break up with me so many times - yet every morning I wake up with me again. Sometimes with someone else as well, but usually - yeah me again. LOL.
