Indeed, many cannot accept that everything is part of a cycle of existence. Many wish to control it as with the flood mitigation barriers on the Thames, others wish to replace or enhance it with artifact and as everyone knows the longest lasting are all less than ten thousand years old - Stonehenge, the Pyramids, Machu Picchu ...
More of a tribute I would say, but if the reality lives up to the vision, a thing of beauty.
