What goes best with french toast?

Bacon or ... well, there is nothing to add past bacon. 🙂

I had the best french toast when I was in South Korea. Had to back for seconds and thirds several times.

I usually eat French toast with a large slab of cooked sausage on top.

Bacon is one of my favorite breakfast foods - thin, meaty, and crispy!

I gave up sugar and sweets over a year ago. But back when I enjoyed such things; I would have liked peanut butter or nutella spread on the french toast. With a little powdered sugar sprinkled on top. Or even better, lately I have seen a lot of cinnamon roll based french toast. And don't forget to try some fresh honey, brown rice syrup, or agave syrup on top in lieu of maple for a change.

Now my pancreas cringes at the thought of something that sweet. As for the bacon, I still eat it occasionally, but you would be surprised to see how hard it is to find bacon without some sort of sugar glaze. For my breakfast money now, give me a chorizo and egg breakfast burrito any day!

Wow, that all sound lethal but delicious. Did you give up sugar on health grounds and did you loose any weight by doing that?

@Jolanta Yes, I gave it up for health reasons and I just had enough of sweet on my tongue one day. I have lost about 26 lbs. since that time and no longer have blood sugar spikes and drops. I also don't really get "hangry" anymore.

@AndrewInVail I am trying to give up sweets of any kind. I find that my tongue gets kind of funny when I have too much. It is not easy and will take some time.
