I have an idea. I have fixed and built lots of stuff, built furniture, fixed furniture, built my house and shops and on and on.

I would like to make my experience available to you godless heathens for questions about repairs or improvements to your home.

--This service however can not include questions about women or relationships!!!!

Ok. Do we need a separate forum? I can see these questions having multiple inputs. My first one will be on tiling a bathroom floor and fixing a basin on a pedestal, please !

Easy fix for you.

I just created a group called Home repair Rx but no i'm having problems finding it. Maybe I did it wrong.

@callmedave Here you go! go here and let's get started!

Interesting. I have worked as a carpenter for close to 30 years. Mind if I read along?

Love to have you along for the ride. This will help exercise my mind and give me purpose.

I moved to another country, with complete different building style and standards, I am completly lost in how to proper msntain my current house XD.
In Brazil, houses are made to resist heavy rain and to be fresh and aired. In Norway, the objective is warm and insulated

Please do! I live in an 1840s railway masters house with no straight lines and lots of crumbly bits. OH has no head for what we term 'bricolage'. You would seriously take queries? I so need that. Everyone here wants to quote for a job, not tell you how to do it.

I do most of my own home repairs, but admit to watching several home improvement YouTube videos first, to make sure I understand what I'm doing. None of them mention God, so that's good. Thanks for offering your advice for those of us who might need it.

This is a great idea !

Thanks I might take ya up on that. I've been restoring my childhood home n I've still got a lot to do. In lieu of a group about home improvement in general I know we have a group about restoring particularly old houses here. If you don't want to start a group I suggest maybe we can post in there about it? Called these old houses I think.

If you do want to start a group I suggest it be broad, for all sorts of repairs, country living and homesteading tips, n everyone with a specialty could pitch in. Home improvement, plumbing, electrical, garden, talk about tools n materials. We might be able to create a lowes of information lol. Id also really like to get into and talk about wood working and fabrication with metal, like caste smelting and hammer forging knives n steel bladed tools. I gotta finish gettin this garage cleaned out and restore/improvise some tools before I can get into all that though.

@thinktwice This is a great idea. In other words a group approach? I'm not sure how i would set that up.

@kgoodyear I'll see what I can do to set it up if you're interested, might be later tonight or tomorrow. Ill PM ya later n we can talk about it.

@Wurlitzer I think I have it hooked up but I would appreciate it if you could look it over and offer up any advice to make it more appealing

Are you starting a group?

I don't know how to but I am sure in trade for advice someone will help me out

@kgoodyear Just click on the groups button on your main page. Then click on the " create group "button there.

@nvrnuff Will do

@kgoodyear Let me know when you do, I'll join.

Smart to recognize what your areas of expertise are (and aren’t!) ?
