It is after 8 pm Central time US. I have a good book waiting for me in the bedroom. I wish you all a safe evening, and tomorrow I hope 2019 turns out better than any of us ever hoped it would. Remember, no matter what happens, you are part of the the universe, ever atom in you has existed since the beginning of time, and will continue to exist after you are gone. We are all inhabiting a sphere spinning at 900 miles an hour. We are pretty darn amazing. Be safe tonight, and ttyl!

Happy New Year! ?? what are you reading?

I am reading Atheism for Dummies. It's really well done, and gives the history of atheism and discussion of all the shades and nuances. Its very well done. The lines I used about atoms and the speed of the planet came from the book.

@HippieChick58 By chance, have you read Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything? It's one of my all-time favorites.

[books.google.com]

@orange_girl Are you familiar with GoodReads? It is a great site, I've used it for several years. I had to open it up and check, and yes, I read A Short History in June 2015. I also belong to a book club through my local Humanists group, and the Dummies book was one they read before I joined. I thought it sounded good so I picked it up a couple of months ago and finally have gotten around to it.

@HippieChick58 I haven't been on there on years, but I think it's a great site!

@orange_girl I try to record every book I read on it, it helps me keep track. I remember my late former mother in law lamenting she couldn't remember if she had read a book or not when she was at the library. I told her if she checked out a book she had previously read she would just be revisiting old friends.

@HippieChick58 I used to work at a library and we'd get patrons all the time returning books and saying "I already read that one!" LOL

I'm alternating between my novel and checking my alerts on Agnostics.com. Happy New Year

What are you reading?

@HippieChick58. An English spy novel. So far it has provided me with about a dozen new words for the Uncommon Words group. Good mind candy for the holiday, but well written. Mark Dawson - #4 in the John Milton Series. Like I said mind candy. Sort of like James Bond or Jack Reacher characters.

@t1nick I love books with big words and not commonly used words. I like big words and I cannot lie.

@HippieChick58 me too.
