I'm here. I made it! The long, harrowing drive ended in success! My car and my little rig held up like champs all the way. Real glad for that! As for me, I did an amazing job of driving through the crap I drove through. Not something I'd suggest for everyone. It is not an endeavor for the weak of heart! (In fact, this may well be my last long, solo drive. I'm getting too old for this shit!)

Anyhoo... I stopped 3 nights. One night at an old friend's place and two nights at a motel. The only trouble I had on my trip, was the trouble I picked up on that 2nd night, New Year's Eve, in North Carolina. The only place open to get anything to eat was the southern buffet next door. Yep. Food poisoning. Worst case I could imagine. (Then again, there isn't a best one, is there?) It hit me the day after I arrived at the campground. So I was literally laid out for like 30 hrs. Barely alive. Sure how it felt anyway! I started coming back to life the day before yesterday, thank goodness. All in all, I'm glad my food poisoning was the only mishap along the way.

Much of central and east coast FL is all quite familar to me. There's so many choices of parks and beaches to explore! There's no snow!! I'm not freezing my ass off!! Yeah, I think my first winter of snowbirding will suit me just fine. Living in such a tiny space sure presents challenges, but it's a good learning experience. A crash course for tiny living in the extreme. But eh, it'll also help keep me outside more. Health is a reason for coming down here. And on that note, the day outside is calling! 🙂

I've said it before. Instead of campgrounds and hotels we should stop in at each others houses for long trip breaks. Cool rig though.?

@daylily

I'm in southern Virginia with an extra room and a tiny guest house. All are welcome to stop by. Must love dogs. ?

@daylily You would be welcome to stay on my property if you needed!

Does that fold down? Are on vacation or is this permanent living?

@daylily Sounds wonderful. So have you retired? And where are you going in April?

Awesome!! Well, except for the food poisoning. It always seems to be a buffet.

@daylily Instead of buffet they should call it food poisoning roulette.

This is so awesome....look forward to your adventures living in your tiny space!

@daylily I am trying to go from 3400 sqft to about 1800 and am struggling...each day I purge and it seems like I have made no progress...I can't imagine, but I do know that paring down has been freeing and enlightening...I hope you will share the good and the bad of your living for a reality check...I so admire you!

@daylily I think you are better with practical space and less makes you more creative and free...that is my goal...to enjoy more experiences and less stuff...
