As I sit here writing and glancing out the window now and then to watch a blizzard blasting the abandoned pastures, knowing that it may be days before I can reach civilization again, I find myself wondering, "Why do I live out here in semi-isolation, twenty miles from the nearest town and a mile from my nearest neighbour.
Now I shall return to writing my quirky little fantasy novellas and hope spring comes soon.
Tea's on, supper is in the slow cooker and my dogs are sleeping quietly.
Ah...tiz da life...

I can appreciate how you feel because I live on an island in the St. Lawrence River, if I catch the ferry it's a half hour to town. The swans are massing together on the river in front of my house, settling down for the night and the snow storm that is about to hit. For a guy who grew up in Toronto and spent the first half of his life there, this is heaven. Like the difference between being a free range chicken versus being a battery cage chicken. 😀

@DonaldHRoberts I read that they were starting to use drones to fly in supplies to Manitoulin, is that so? The North Channel is beautiful in the summer but too cold for me come winter, I'll stick to the banana belt. 🙂

@DonaldHRoberts I'm at the west end of the St. Lawrence where it meets Lake Ontario.
