I think a case could be made for society rejecting wisdom that is already available. In modern computer thinking, data begets information which begets knowledge. The old thinking was about a knowledge of spirituality that manifested itself in wisdom. It was entirely bound up in an acceptance of the existence of God and the manifestation of his values. That acceptance is gone, of course, and now wisdom is perhaps just seen as an eccentricity of Eastern religion. So there is no concept of secular wisdom unless we see humanitarian values as the road to wisdom..
