I have but one regret in life.

I wish I had "put away" $5000 per week...into my retirement fund.

Agreed...but it sure would have been sweet, to be born with a golden spoon in my mouth.

I wish I HAD five grand to put away in a retirement fund. Hell, I'd settle for having five DOLLARS a week to put away in to a retirement fund.

As a previous responder noted if you could have put away $5,000 a week you shouldn't need it 🙂

I started this month my investments for retirement. The public one here is good, and probably my private one will never be higher than that (with today numbers), but it's always wise to have some investments under my control.

Before taxes, that's 260K/year. If you make 500K/year, you probably won't have 5K a week take home. 750K probably. At that rate you might pay quarter mil in taxes, give another quarter for savings. You can live on 250K easy. I don't know anyone that makes anywhere near that much tho.
