“The collapse of the American empire” (book chris Berg)

  • a poll showed that
  1. 93% of republicans believe everything trump says.
  2. 63% of republicans believe their own family members.
  3. 80% of republicans do not believe what is said in the Wall Street journal.

Questions asked “in that America, what hope does empirically proven facts have?”

“It means that facts are interchangeable with opinion at the cost of reality.”

The German NSDP did a similar poll back in 1940, and got similar results!

What a convoluted question.. It would have lost most trumpers with “empirically” - are you sure that was the question? Anyway, trumpers are a cult that now appears to include the entire Republican Party. Problem is, they vote - and they vote for Republicans..

Educated people have this problem of not following ... some become contrary, or purists, so lacking a Party of Purity, they bitch, whine, and confuse others to the point some won't vote, and other’s toss their vote away on a candidate incapable of winning … and those you’ve described above ‘win.’ What a Country! 😕

Ironically, it is our downfall that in using facts, observations, etc. we realize that every problem has multiple reasons for the problem and multiple possible solutions. This ability drives our hesitence, our unwillingness to commit, and thus our disadvantage. Unfortunately, people of lesser intelligence are more easily brainwashed to become part of the herd. We need to look at the greater good, join together (in the next election) and get this crybaby bullying a*$@4 out of office. He is going to sink this ship if we don't.

@15Zelda Yes! (I’d send you a shovel full of points if I knew how 😉 ) I also find the ..higher thinking among us expect they’ll have to ‘defend their choice,’ and fully aware of various ‘impurities,’ back away from a candidate, like Hillary, who’d been targeted so long she’d been tarnished by abuse, if nothing else.. Seemed every time I’d describe my support for HRC ...I’d receive a litany of ‘reasons’ some otherwise thinking acquaintance ‘refused to vote for her’ 😕

It’s so much easier for the fools… And yes, ‘we’ also need to vote as a block. At least until we turn this ship of state around and get it steaming full speed in a progressive direction … then we can argue over the deck chair placement..

The hope is that the Democrats will start voting more and use their majority to eventually overrule the stupid choices that Republicans make.

I think too many of them are disillusioned by the gerrymandering to believe their vote will count for anything.

Gerrymandering, along with the undemocratic Electoral College and Senate are all designed to prevent people from having a significant voice in their government.

Yes(!). The demise of democracy in the US has been slow but strategic. Problem is, those wanting it fixed instantly don’t understand what that will take.. Described my thoughts above, but until the majority of my nation consistently vote for Democrats, we’ll continue the creep toward a ‘one party’ government.

@Veteran229 Redrawing districts to account for population changes is necessary, but gerrymandering is when districts are redrawn in a way that gives unfair advantage to one party over another (i.e. politicians pick their voters rather than the voters picking their politicians). That is not in the constitution.

@Veteran229The demise of democracy in the US has been slow but strategic.” - how’d you know I was takin the day off..? But guess what? You wouldn’t have appreciated everything I just deleted … back to here -- I know it 😀 Sharing my US History with you is a waste of our time ~
