Just got this invite, and now I invite you.

Artful Dodgers Poetry at the Montauk Club

"Dear friends, poets, and poetry lovers: this January 19th from 4-6 pm, we’re trying out a Saturday late afternoon poetry reading instead of our usual monthly Sunday event. Robert Gibbons and Ed Toney will be featured, along with our generous open mic. This will give you and your friends time to sleep late and have brunch, get smashed or otherwise entertained in the evening, with a creamy filling of poetry in between, sort of like an Oregon cookie. Mouth watering, isn’t it.”

For more information, or to confirm an interest in reading your work, please contact us at:
artfuldodgerspoetry@gmail.com. A schedule of upcoming events will be posted periodically on Artful Dodgers Poetry Facebook page and also on the on the Facebook page of Harvey Soss, the series’ curator.

The Montauk Club, built in 1891 and styled by Francis Kimball, a leading architect of the day, after a Venetian palazzo, is located at 25 8th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn, a short hop from Manhattan, just around the corner from the Grand Army Plaza 2/3 subway stop and an easy walk from the 7th Avenue Q/B and F stations (8th Avenue exit at the latter). The mission of Artful Dodgers Poetry is to bring the best poetry available in NYC and beyond to as wide an audience as possible, bridging generations, in a setting remarkable in its own right for its unique, and likely never again to be duplicated, aesthetics. Mosey on by, it’s free.
