On the subject of atheism, I found this of interest.

You know conservapedia is garbage when it leaves out our number 1 comfort food, babies.

Don't forget our garnish prepuce flesh how we love to torture baby boys on strap down boards and clamp down hard on a tiny glans covered in blood after slicing 4 square inches of healthy foreskin....yup we are just like the Kansas B.T.K. serial murderer bind, torture and knife our victims ....you bet Atheists are closet Lutherans serving the will of the alleged bad gawd Beelzebub

Betcha zero cat scans watch brains process believers during cognitive dissonance...watching idle believer response to vague religious questions only perpetuate delusion and academic bias for religious victims ongoing status

The article on William lane Craig is 100% bullshit attack on DR DAWKINS brilliant book gawd DELUSION....the propaganda against Atheism and Atheists is the only "deeper" sewer "thought" here....Atheists quote religious crimes and xians blather sophmorically to keep children in school deluded and away from critical thinking skills

Conservapedia came out as a reaction to Wikipedia. It was a way of de-legitimizing Wikipedia and put a religious spin on the encyclopedia. Of course with so much conservative dialogue there is a lot of spin involved. Wikipedia tries to remain neutral and, obviously, conservapedia does not. It is geared toward a more closed minded bunch.

At the onset it claims atheist don't practice things as meditation. That is pure crap. Remember, religion is about magic and supernaturalism and, as such, cannot be proven. This is a way to try and add a bit of 'scientific' (which the religious are constantly touting they don't believe but keep trying to show there is a link) justification. DOn't wast you time.

@VictoriaNotes I totally agree. It is always best to know your enemy.

I can’t get past the name. With it’s bias up front - no thanks ~

The worst kind of Mental Disorder - Religious ones. Honest.

This is woo of the worst kind.

My field of study was Psych and people with religious delusions - wow you just have to feel badly. It's hard to help them shake it when you have to separate religion as being "ok to believe in".

I really hope this changes in future.

We did a lot of reality testing with these clients - but then they go "But God". Hard to argue. Sigh.

Got to be hard to help someone with delusions when you can't tell them ALL of their imaginary friends are imaginary...

@Kafir Oddly we could confront the delusional aspects. It was quite interesting... but also hard work. Those delusions are so entrenched?

Conservipedia is full of shit. They cherry pick articles and cherry pick excerpts from articles that portray anyone who isn't religious as inferior. Lies by omission and omission of context. Not to mention their sources are often laughable and usually discredited by the rest of the scientific community.

Thanks for the links and welcome to the site.

Regarding the Conservapedia link, I checked some of the featured excerpts against their citations and found a bit of biasing through omission of full context.

Regarding the Wikipedia link, I found it to be a very interesting page that was presented objectively. This is a fascinating topic.

I always thought this was one of the funniest things on the Internet. The length, stupidity, and psychological make up of those who would compile such a long, stupid page is infinitely interesting and funny to me.

oh my...that is one of the most ridiculous articles I think I have ever read!! No self control? It takes a lot of self control not to laugh out loud...ha ha ha ha...

Thanks, this is absurd and I wonder if Gallup really showed what the site said. It could be a case for a lawsuit.

@thinktwice Even the pictures are hilarious. Scrolling down awkward pictures of overweight atheists, you get to the picture of a svelte Chuck Norris beaming a smile, lol. Then scroll through more pictures of overweight atheists, then a skinny Christian fitness instructor with her children, lol. Am I really supposed to believe I can't go anywhere in Mississippi, Alabama, or Texas, throw a rock into a crowd, and hit an obese Christian? The entire page is supposed to make me think that Christianity is some kind of diet magic, whereas atheism makes you fat and lazy and sick. Clearly the entire thrust of the page makes me think it was written by overweight Christians for overweight Christians to make them fear atheism because it will make them even more overweight, lol. It's so transparently bizarre. I wonder why there are no pictures of the Huckabees?

@greyeyed123 lol you are so funny! I laughed at this fabulous post...I remember as a child sitting between my aunties in an unairconditioned Southern Baptist church in KY....both of them easily weighted over 240...the more they waved their hankies and thanked Jesus, the more they sweated...I would go home wet and stinking in my nice Sunday dress...they would have been good models for that article...how to get a workout in church... ha ha ha

uh...wow...

@irascible I am just so stunned until I realized that most of the "pedias" are written by anyone and can include whatever they want...I don't know that there is anyone checking everything except those that might come across the page and add their own information...the veracity of anything should be questioned as well as the sources...plus, so much of what I personally experience is quite the opposite...

@irascible Gaslighting seems to be the choice of intellectually capable authorities...if they can make you question what you see in front of your very eyes, they have succeeded...it is insidious...look at the people who were led to believe in what Hitler said...that is why is it important to have groups that can help you check your sanity...you are sane, friend...well...mostly...;D
