But is it art?

Don't know him.

Seems like an insult to McDonald's, since it actually exists.

I want one to hang in the bathroom. Upside down.
Or maybe, do a Mapplethorpe-inspired thing with it, and put it in a large jar if urine.

It was the best location to place such a masterpiece. If Banksy had known which he may or may not have heard I'm sure he would have given it full exposure at his Museum which is at the Wall in Bethlehem. Haifa has a Christmas Shop if I remember and they adorn Xmas Lights all up the way to the Bahai Gardens. So if they still have room for Santa then Ronald is a far more artistic statement especially for those who still have a 'White Jesus' as an Icon or relic. Travel up to Tiberia and around the Sea of Galilee and tell me what the 'Populace' identifies with culturally.
I'll tell you America hasn't a clue not only about Jesus, but about religion as something that is studied from the Bible which has caused more death and war then any other reason known to mankind. I'm sure a nude pinup of our First Lady would be accepted and adorned. And those are plentiful and lots of smiles.

It's art, nobody gives a crap except for the religious fanatics. Same like when muslims riot and kill people when images of allah are shown and of course the christians criticize this, this proves all religions are the same, full of retrograde wahoos, but the Israelis chickened out and they will return the statue to the Finnish sculptor, whom also had requested the removal of his piece but for entirely different reasons, he didn't want to support the jews who in his view oppress the palestinians, see the pattern here? Ah, if only people listened to John Lennon in Imagine. Here is the full story. [npr.org]

And yet Christians continue to offend us by forcing their religious view on us through the law...
