The guillotine
If any single item has become the symbol of the French Revolution, it would be the guillotine. France maintained capital punishment until 1981. Perhaps it was finally abolished because it offended the French sense of good taste. It wasn't only the fact that it made people who happened to be executed a head shorter, but the blood gushing from the headless neck of the shorted victim would stain clothing and leave traces on the revolutionary tool.
Now the French government found a very different way to execute wearers of Yellow Vests Gilets Jaunes. without any judicial interference cops are allowed to kill people using flashballs the French verb: flashballer.
As far as I can find out there have been no deaths linked to the use of these guns. They are preferable to the police firing live rounds, as they do any many countries to control rioting. They have injured many, although they say they are not designed to penetrate the skin, they seem to have inflicted severe injuries in some cases. They are not designed to kill, contrary to your post above which is extremely misleading.
that's pretty much what I was going to write.
