It costs nothing, NOTHING, to treat another with respect.

I agree with and like this post. The thing I find is that there are universal things that people want from society. They want to be loved or at least cared about. They want to be respected. They want to utilize their talents for productivity and happiness. They want to be treated nicely. In my opinion the nuance comes from the fact that each person has a different definition of what "being treated nicely" is.

Nice of you to expect the best from others but USA is a predatory fascist money food chain dominated by billionaire evil liars 31 states voted for our tangerine tiny fingered SHITGIBBON

Ok let’s test that theory at the next trump rally. ?

@MissKathleen So what you’re saying is that in no way could you be genuinely respectful to any of his supporters??

@MissKathleen I didn’t say that it had to be trump either, you did.
So literally out of a thousand to 1 you focused on the one ? hmmm very very interesting indeed

@MissKathleen No it’s not and I’ll tell you why.
It does cost to be respectful especially towards those for whom we might not want to be.

It cost us our humility and our pride. And for some those two things outway all of wealth in the world.

So when I said “ let’s test that at the next trump rally” I was implying that most likely no one would be willing to pay that cost towards his supporters even if it was to attempt to create dialogue and possibly mend our society.

But you actually took it a step further. Which is ok you still proved my point in that respect is usually reserved for the like minded.

@MissKathleen Exactly, thank you

@MissKathleen I never said that you have.
I only asked if you’d be respectful if confronted by those who you might already have a predisposed bias towards for which you really haven’t answered.

But since I’m insulting you by asking you for a simple yes or no question.
I’ll just accept your dodging as a no you wouldn’t be able to maintain your composure which only confirms my point that being respectful towards other people does come at a price.

That’s all and have a good day

When I campaign or go shopping same respect I see a person respect them all equally neither Atheist nor believer gets a different message gesture or eye contact....but a skull cap, crucifix or religious billboard costume ruins that for me and I diplomatically exit in hopes they will vote for me or wish me well as a neighbor

Yes, it costs nothing to be respectful towards others and the returns are even greater most of the time.

I think a little might depend on who this other is. Showing respect to some folks is like giving them the okay sign to lay it on a little harder.
