-It is like this every year, more or less. I almost consider myself a native here. We are skightly disappointed when the winter is "too mild." I think I could easily live in the really cold parts of the world.
US TOO!!!! and i live no where near a lake. i'm hoping my pipes don't freeze.

I have pipes in a crawlspace under the house. For those, I let the water in the bathtub drip. Keeps them open.
@Spinliesel pipes didn't freeze. i only have one that is on an outside wall (i of course pulled out all insulation to expose the brick. now i am reconsidering this move and may put the wall back up. ha!)
It's -32C outside right now and still snowing as it has been since last night but +2C by Wednesday so hang in there.

It started about 0700 and didn't stop until 1600... We got 4 inches of snow and bitter cold temps Sunday (high of 18 yesterday and currently -2 with a wind chill of -25).
