Does unhealthy food make you happy sometimes? Even for a little while? I eat healthy the majority of the time, but sometimes I let loose and eat all my favorites for about a week or more, and I don't feel guilty at all... Then im back on the healthy choices for the next long stretch of time... Anyone else?

My only rule for eating is I eat whatever I want whenever I want. I don't care about counting calories or macros (whatever that is). I don't limit carbs, fats, proteins, or whatever else. I just enjoy whatever I feel like eating.

Nothing is unhealthy in moderation.

I didn't grow up with fast foods and pizza so I rarely eat them at all...I do eat a slice with the little kids sometimes...

I do pretty much eat "healthy"...I do keto most of the time...oddly, I don't crave any particular food, but whatever it is, I eat it and then jump back...why feel guilty about food?

I rarely eat sugar or things that become sugar only because I feel horrible...but if someone offers me creme brulee from a certain place, I will run you over getting to the door....

You seem to be doing well with your food while you are pregnant!

Yes. I'm doing good, thanks... But this week, maybe all take out.... Out of lonliness.... I'm all alone til Friday....

@Cutiebeauty I don't feel like eating when I am lonely...I clean! ha ha

I remember a tv series but I can't recall the name. Each episode featured a very unhealthy, usually overweight, person and looked at their poor diet/lifestyle. They got a very fit and healthy person to live this person's lifestyle for a few weeks to measure the effects it had on them. It was interesting how it had an effect on their mental health (especially mood swings) as well as physical health. That's the problem with unhealthy food - it gives you a short-term pleasure hit that becomes addictive so you keep eating it. The long-term effect is the real problem. Speaking from personal experience...

My go-to is occasional dark chocolate or a burger and that does it.

Do it while you can. Your metabolism will slow down one day and drinking alcohol might turn your face red when you get older.

I eat what I damn well please for me moderation is the key?

Yes. I agree ?

@Biptu tried it twice when Carter was in didn't like it

Absolutely. Pizza, pasta, burgers cheesesteaks wings and hot dogs are my biggest weaknesses. Lately lovin hot dogs and/or fries covered in chilli cheese and jalapenos. Mmmmm but yeah gotta go back on my diet. When I want to eat relatively good and get back into a calorie deficit I intermittently fast and eat one big meal: a can of chunky soup gumbo or jambalaya spiced up with sriracha and creole seasoning and a pack of rice. That fills me up enough to eat once a day n get back to losin weight. Ive got one more round of hot dogs left and then Im going back to eating a week's worth of chunky nonsense lol.

I'm eating all that stuff now... And I'm loving it haha...

What's healthy these days, with all the chemicals in fertilisers and other stuff in our food? My definition of eating healthy is eating a bit of every poison. All those who had certain fruits and vegetables only at a certain period of the year will understand straight away what I mean.

It's true about fertilizers and such but we do the best we can by washing fruits and veggies thoroughly.... No processed foods...

I just had this discussion with a colleague today...we decided that the same as you and hope that a little poison spread out among all of the fruits and veggies we eat is the best we can do...increasing our variety hopefully will give us some protection...

Washing only removes external contaminants...the ones absorbed are the ones I worry about...

Heck yeah! Even though it's horrible for you, sometimes you just want a little fast food! LOL

I'm eating fast food all this week, then back to my regular food intake ??

@Cutiebeauty These things happen... It's not whether you fall down, it's whether you get back up, dust yourself off, and carry on! 😛

I regret alot of things. But not food. Well except liver who the hell thought that should be food. Even with onions, Yuck!

funny friend story...……...in college he decided to save money, bought five pounds of liver, the dog ate very well that week.

You're right... I don't like liver ??

Me..especially during cold weather..I indulge my cravings for comfort food..like Fried Chicken with baked mac & cheese...mmmmmmmm

Ok now I know what I’m to eat for lunch ?
Thanks

Can't do chicken since my pregnancy, but cheese burgers, yes! Had four this morning lol

@Cutiebeauty aaaah cravings..

@Charlene sometimes better than the sex that caused them ?????

@48thRonin glad I could help..

Yes but I go for one item or meal about twice a week. Actually I don't think that there are many harmful foods except perhaps white sugar, there are only foods taken to excess, and it is perhaps better to have a small amount now and again rather than binge out, because that gives your organs a hammering.

3

Sounds like a good plan
I’m more interested in what you would eat on the ‘unhealthy binges’
Ice cream is my goto
What are yours?

Cheese.

Usually meat, pizza, Chinese food.... Cake, donuts, etc...

1

Nobody is perfect, nobody can eat perfectly! Would it be better for you to have a bit of indulgence every day, instead of long binges?

A bit everyday.... ? That might turn into a bad habit eventually....
