They could tighten up the venues for illegal arms buying like gun shows. That's where The cartel gets alot of their weapons because it is so much easier to do here and smuggle them into Mexico and beyond. Seems like keeping track af all the guns we sell would help with many problems.

By "they", I assume you mean government. The same government who can't even keep drugs out of their own prisons.

I think it is a matter of demand. If people want something there will be someone to supply it.
