Every day I wake up, get out of bed and move around unhindered is a great day! My home is warm, my dog greets me with enthusiasm, our morning walk is bracing, my breakfast hearty. The rest of the day is gravy. Glad you are having a good day and look so happy! ????

@nicknotes thank you for that compliment - my 2nd favorite flower.

At my old house I used to have Sunflowers. When they ripen and fall over I would harvest the seeds. They were great although I got the husks all over the house. @Heidi68

@nicknotes I have birdfeeders which I put black oil sunflower seed - I get pretty birds and sunflowers - love them

I see you live in the country with your dogs and horses. I used to think I wanted to be a farmer when I retired. But now that I am retired from the USPS I gave up on that idea. It seems like too much physical work. I'm more of a thinker and writer. @Heidi68

@nicknotes my horse is 19, he will be with me until he dies - the next day I will be packing, heading to the coast and living in a condo..

Are you moving to the outer banks? I saw you had a lighthouse photo...it looked familiar. I have vacationed several times at Duck NC. @Heidi68

@nicknotes the lighthouse is Cape Lookout. I grew up in Morehead City/Atlantic Beach/Beaufort - my dad owns a condo there so if all else fails I will end up back home... probably 10'ish years

Yes, thank you. Luckily I'm in Fort Myers Florida and we'll have clear skies with temps in the 60's today. I'll be enjoying some of the 75+ miles of bicycle paths this afternoon.

Good morning. It's been ok so far due the very cold weather, but I have only been up for about an hour so far.

@MissKathleen i’m at work so no to your suggestions. And I thought we were talking about the weather outside, not conditions inside; believe it or not I long ago reached an age where I learnt how to keep myself warm.

@MissKathleen I don’t suppose you’ve ever experienced a British January...

I don’t have heating or a fireplace outside, though 🙂

@MissKathleen well, imagine that rain dialled down to just above freezing, add in some gusty wind that blows that icy rain into your face and you’ll have an idea! Roll on summer; contrary to popular belief we do have some lovely weather in summer.
