Jake took his last walk this evening.
Karen asked if we wanted to go for a walk. I got Jake's leash, and he was as excited as he always was to go for a walk, even though he's had trouble breathing lately. We walked probably a half mile, and we came to a hill that Jake and I always run up. He was wheezing a little, so I handed his leash to Karen and ran it myself. When I came back to where they were he was in bad shape and struggling to get his breath. By the time we got him to the vet, he was nearly gone. He made it in oxygen for about 45 minutes and he was gone. I'm glad he got to go for one last walk. He had a good life.
Thank you all. It feels too important not to tell everyone about him. He was my best buddy.
What a beautiful angel. Its so hard to lose our pets. I've lost many and cherished all.
Yeah, I read your bio, how you take care of older animals. I don’t know how you do it. I’ve been a wreck since last night.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Looks like a very good boy indeed.
I'm so sorry. Sounds like Jake had a good life. Pets are special, especially dogs.
They give us their whole lives and they make such a difference in ours. Condolences from Pretzel and me.
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. And glad you got to spend some time giving him some happiness at the end.
