When is the last time you evaluated yourself ? Some will say what u see is what u get. Others might have spent to much time evaluating and are withdrawn. Whatever place you fall it is a positive thing to take a look at yourself and if you do not like what u see make some changes.

Not everyday. But enough to feel like I'm relevant and true to myself.

good job

I do it daily. I set aside an hour each morning just to make sure I'm still as wonderful, intelligent, gorgeous, sexy, fun and utterly mesmerising as I was the day before and always find that I am in fact perfect in almost every way - my only fault is that I'm excessively modest.

Everyday

good job and you are someone to me.

@Marine this place can be fun and a great excercise to look at myself through comments from everyone, no doubt

@IamNobody Yup one can have a good day or sometimes a bad one. I have posted a post and had not recognized an alternative view I did not mean to touch on. When I apologized i got slamed as a wmip and giving in. I will not bing up the subject again as I have learned my lesson.

@Marine We all learn from everyone...... of course at times you have to consider the source and just move on.

@IamNobody You are not kidding there. I have a neighbor that i would not wish on anyone.

It is positive only if A) you are actually honest with yourself, and B) you are prepared to work on yourself if you uncover any flaws or character defects.

And what’s the measuring stick for evaluation? Cornerstone? Timeframe? Plane?

Thatis the nice thing you determine that yourself.

Change is hard

very. and not always a sucess

Well some aspects of our personalities can be changed, I suppose. Other parts are difficult, if not impossible, to change. And many of us may be at an age where we accept ourselves, warts and all. I guess it depends where you are in your life. I agree that if there is an aspect that is unhealthy or self-destructive, it would be a good thing to change THAT. Is that what you mean by evaluation? Not sure if that is what you mean by asking the question.

U got it.

evaluated what aspect of myself? a human being is a complex thing. i made a promise at age 15 to reevaluate all my beliefs periodically and i have kept my promise. i don't see the point, though, in doing a head-to-toe every, say, six months. i'm too old for that. i just work on what i need to work on.

That's positive

Every day, all the time, with an eye toward letting go of "self-ness" (i.e. identification with externals). Another excellent topic for "Dharma Café", where this kind of thing relates directly and centrally to our chosen theme(s).

I know you do it. Have a nice day.

I don't.

can't win them all.

It is difficult to do. Most of us see ourselves with rose colored glasses and when someone points out "faults" in our make up we get hurt and angry and look for excuses, however it is all very important that we do it from time to time.

Yes, constructive criticism is one thing...if you know somebody is trying to help. But for me, I find the people that give advice are usually extroverts who don't understand the benefits/qualities introverts have and consider some of our qualities somehow 'defective'.

@mojo5501 Yes I can understand how frustrating it must be for Introverts. It is difficult for Extroverts to try and live in somebody els shoes even for one hour. I myself am an introverted extrovert.

you hit it someone else stated there is always someone pointing out my mistakes,

@Marine I keep a daily bullet journal.

@DeStijl You sure are busy, keep it up.

@Marine How do you know if I'm busy?

@DeStijl I just want to be your friend I give up don't want to be a friend Ok your call.

@Marine It was an odd comment.

@DeStijl I am pleased that you are on the this site and look forward to your comments
