What are things you regularly say to people when they use a figure of speech.

"Living the dream!" So am I, but nightmares are dreams, too.

"Thank you." No worries.

Or instead of "bless you", I will go with either "Stop sneezing. You're revealing our position." Or, "I'm not a priest and don't want to be blamed for any I'll fated events in the near future."

Ritualistic responses are the point for when another really doesn't care to get involved in a a conversation, thinking the ritualistic response is the polite thing to say.

You might want to say "Now get the fuck outta of my face" but the ritualistic response is "Have a nice day."

When someone says "Have a nice day" to me my response is "I have other plans, thanks."

I say "I'm working on it."

@HailSatan81 If I have a nice day, I'll smile. If I'm smiling the wife snarls "What the hell have YOU been up to?" After that it isn't a nice day.

"Apparently," I say dryly when I don't quite believe it. Kind yet skeptical.

It amuses me.

"Allegedly" works pretty well , too.

answer to "how are you?" varies from," Great, but I'll get better," " I've had worse days, but it's still early, " "Tired, worn out and miserable, but other than that great" to " Buckle up, it's about to get interesting."

Like the last one especially.

I would just go with the last one. Every time.

I'll say "Excuse" as I pass people in the grocery store and then follow it up with "don't worry, I won't let it happen again" I'll say the same thing if they do it to me.

@HailSatan81 When I hear "excuse me" my response is "There is an excuse for you?"

@WonderWartHog99 my response, is "there is no excuse for you, wait, TV was broken and your parents had nothing else to do."

When I sneeze my brother always says: goddamn you!
I say 'excuse me' after sneezing. this is my way of avoiding the obligatory 'thank you' after a person tries to bless me.
Except for my brother, I always thank him for damning me ?
