So, just to be clear....when we interview people for jobs now....should we ask them to bring along their yearbooks in addition to their resumes? LOL

Pretty fucking much where I been trying to get people to understand that once we’ve moved past the generation born in the 30’s through the early 50’s most of our racism will just go.

I wouldn't count on it..

If it just goes, it just goes underground, and the Trumpsters have brought it front and center.

@ProudMerrie Racism is taught it’s passed down by generations. My family was for the most part but each new generation has gotten less and less with the exception of those whose education and intelligence peaked.

I can’t speak for all though I have learned in my experience that with snakes if you cut the head off ( the source of thought in this case ) they tend to die.
But if all you do is strike at them in order to make them go away they tend to strike back.

Just saying that maybe we should’ve cut the heads off way back but instead we just gave them their justification to strike back.

@jlynn37 Ok there you go “ trumpeters “ !?

Seriously these people were raising their heads as the tea party during the Obama administration, they were attacking anyone who resembled a middle easterner after 9/11, and during the Clinton administration they were in the woods fortifying themselves and training as militias.

They’ve always been there but just as conservatives pushed for gays to stay hidden we’ve pushed for these individuals to stay hidden.
It’s time that we acknowledge that we’re not a healed nation let alone a unified one and do something about it.

And by that I mean we stop with the labeling. All labeling has ever done is stipulate who’s accepted and who’s not.
Once we stop that then our society will no longer be able to say that as a group, race, religion or political affiliation “ You are not welcome here and will most likely not be tolerated.”

We need to stop with the self segregation. How the fuck can anyone actually know whether or not they can’t live amongst someone else if they purposely avoid doing so.

But this also means that we have to acknowledge racial inequality that has been manifested and maintained by both political parties.
I know that it might mean that your housekeepers kids might be your kids neighbors.

And there will always be racism as long as there’s inequality or at least the assumption of it. Which has existed for hundreds of years now and even longer where our ancestors came from.

So the only thing that trump can be blamed for is turning the light on in our kitchen and forcing us to acknowledge that we’re not even close to perfect.
