Rewards to myself for acquiring my brown(tiger) and black (dragon) belts in karate.

@erlie03 my belts were also in Shotokan with Okinawan weapon styles. Also studied the katana with Iaido, kendo and ken jitsu for a short time

@erlie03 Havent been back in dojo since 2002. Life got in the way and took me out of the dojo. I ran a karate club for Native American high school studrnts for ten years in conjunction with Kerry Lee studios in Santa Fe, NM. Left Santa Fe to assist family with ailing mother. Back in western NM on the Navajo Rez teaching high school., but not back in martial arts. No good choices where I'm located.

@erlie03 If it was feasible, I might consider travelling to Albuquerque two hours away to re-start the kendo.

@erlie03 not interested in taekwando. Spent a summer working out with a taekwando dojo when I was in Illinois working on Masters thesis. Didn't like the crossover. Taekwando and MMA are in my area., also ju jitso. Just does not draw me in.

@erlie03 Phone call came in. Good luck going forward in the dojo.

@erlie03 not like I used to. I practice warrior beathing occasionally. And calm myself through zen

@erlie03 yeah it takes dedication and time like anything else. Good when you do it right though.

@erlie03. Cool. Go for it girl.

This is an older pic. It's right after I had it done.

@erlie03 no not painful, but took six hours on the table, as I had the tiger re-highlighted when I had the dragon done.

@erlie03 i hear that. I want to get a wood block cut Samarai weilding a Bo, as that was my favorite weapon.

@erlie03 there is form of karate that emphasizes a nerve strike following any move. It was impressive in demonstrations I witnessed. A form of Issen Ryu I think.

@erlie03 It wasnt painful

@erlie03 right. I only have two but Ive been thinking about getting a big one now for a few years

@erlie03 You've seen one. 永远快乐 on a coin is mine. I had it done in ShangHai

I guess I have committment issues because I could never get a tattoo. I prefer my artwork to be on a wall so I can see it better and change it out when I find something new that I like more.

My only tat. I was born with it. My grandma said it is a fish.
