Only if someone wants to file a lawsuit.

I've read there is supposed to be a separation of church and state, but I'm beginning to wonder.

Sounds like a form of Christian madras if you ask me. Inculcation, indoctrination, and mind control at an early age

Oh no he said it perfectly with “ Starting to make a turn back “ .
Mental and social regression here we come!!

But I will say this to some of you other political party people.

If you live in a state that passes this kind of legislation then LEAVE!! It’s just as ignorant to stay and give your tax dollars to a state that apparently you’re the minority and they don’t fucking care!!

So leave and trust me I’m 99% positive that the job you hate there exists elsewhere ????

In public school, Bible as literature classes are not illegal. Bible as religion classes are. Undoubtedly certain areas will try to blend the two with a wink and a nod.
...
I have no problem with it as long as it is an elective and taught as literature, not religion (or science, lol).

That us the fear.

I have a major problem with ANY religious text being taught, under any guise, in any public school.
Under NO circumstances should ANY religious information be taught to public school students. Period.
If someone wants a Comparative Religion class, let them take it in college, where they can pay for it.

@KKGator That would make it very difficult to teach English or History. Freedom of thought, especially in a school, must allow for a discussion of differing views, including religious views. Teaching students that THESE people believe[d] THIS, is not teaching students that THEY must believe THIS. We can't go down the path of thought crime, especially in a school.

@greyeyed123 Fine, then ALL religion must be taught as mythology, just like ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Norse mythology, etc. That is the ONLY way it would be acceptable. Teach it ALL the same, as the mythology it is. Don't differentiate.

@KKGator That's what I said, and that is the law. Religious texts can only be taught as literature in public schools.

@linxminx I do remember a news story about a school in California where there was an elective on the Koran. It was quite a while ago, but I think some conservatives were going ape-sh*t over it.

Trump doesn’t give a shit about the Bible. He cares about what will lather up his base and he will spout off what ever trigger phrases he can in order to get them worked up.

It's a monstrous joke coming from him.
He's just pandering to his fucking idiot base.
It's a complete violation of the Constitution.
Another document he hasn't read, nor understands.
Why is he even allowed to keep breathing?

He complains often about the restraints the constitution puts upon him.

@Beowulfsfriend That alone should be sufficient to have him removed immediately.
I'm telling you right now. IF he is still in office when the 2020 election occurs, and he loses, he WILL refuse to vacate. He's always wanted to be emperor, not president.

@KKGator I fear that as well.
