It just baffles me that so many of the liberals think Trump pulling out of the that idiot Obama’s Iran deal was bad. Hell Iran is the number one cause of trouble and turmoil in the Middle East today.

Your superpower is to fall for rhetoric at every turn. Not the worst superpower, but it is worthless and can be detrimental to the well being of society, which is made obvious by your post.
You know what, I'm not going to berate you any further. That was wrong of me. It's clear that information sources guide your views. I applaud your going online and reading because many people just parrot what they hear. The only issue is those sources of information. I highly recommend 2 sources for real news. All others are in the entertainment real with the occasional slip up of actually provide hard news. Those sources are BBC World and Al Jazeera. You'd be correct in acknowledging that Al Jazeera received quite a bit of criticism after 9/11, but that criticism was purely political to inflame emotions even further, which were already high. That doesn't change the reality that the news from them was and continues to provide solid analysis and accurate background info on the topics they cover. BBC also has incredible background info and analysis. They also have the resources to reach out to the corners of the world verify news. Again, good luck.

Number one: you use the word "idiot" of our former President. Barack Obama graduated from Occidental College, Columbia University, and Harvard Law School, then was Lecturer and Senior Lecturer of constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School before being elected Senator and President. None of those are consistent with the characterization "idiot". (Trump has a BSc in Economics from Wharton and ran a telemarketing "university".)

Number two: the deal with Iran to give them back their own money was actually working. Now that the US has withdrawn, Iran is threatening to resume weapons-grade uranium enrichment. Who's the idiot in this scenario?

Then why was he such a bad president?

@Trajan61 Probably because his dad bailed him out of bankruptcy. That taught him that he can get away with anything he wants.

Wait, we're talking about Trump, right?

@Paul4747 I was referring to Obama.

@Trajan61 In what way was he a bad president? Be specific in naming things he did or did not do so that it can be addressed

@Lucy_Fehr

  1. The bad deal he made with the radical Shiite clerics ruling Iran who hate America and Israel and would never honour any agreement anyway.
  2. He was a regulation nut and made many idiotic regulations which hurt bussiness.
3.He otherized operation fast and furious which was an attempt by Holder and him to stir up trouble with guns so they could use that as excuse to crack down on lawful gun owners. It resulted in people getting killed.
  3. He favored gun control
  4. Be favored higher taxes and bigger more intrusive government.
  5. He was racist and sided with Travon Martin who was nothing but a thug and a criminal.
  6. He was directly responsible for the formation of Black Lives Matters who is responsible for the deaths of law enforcement people.
  7. He was an arrogant SOB who circumvented congress and didn’t follow the US constitution.
  8. He appointed liberal judges to the courts who don’t follow the US constitution.
  9. He entered into a climate agreement which cost billions for little gain.
  10. He backed Mohammand Morsi the leader of the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt a radical Islamic group who was responsible for the death of Anwar Sadat in retaliation for making a peace agreement with Israel. He sent weapons of war to Morsi who wanted to impose Sharia law on Egypt before he was overthrown.
  11. He blocked the Dakota access and the Keystone XL Pipeline’s which was completely looney and made no sense.
  12. I could go on but if that doesn’t convince you I think you are already to far gone as you have drank to much of the liberal kool aid.

@Trajan61 I don't know why I waste my time replying to you, but:

  1. Iran has been living up to their side of the agreement, even after Trump's imposition of sanctions. That will likely end soon, however, as there is now much less incentive for them to do so. The agreement, as several have pointed out, was international, it wasn't simply President Obama; the deal was with the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Counsel plus Germany. The UK, Germany, Italy, Oman, South Korea, Pakistan, and the Vatican all expressed their support and confidence in the agreement. In other words, a bunch of diplomats and statesmen who are much more skilled in world affairs than either of us. I tend to put my stock in them, not in you.

  2. The President does not "make" regulations. The Congress passes bills, the President signs them. Check your Civics 101 textbook. If President Obama's term was so harmful to business, please explain how he presided over our recovery from the worst economic disaster since the Great Depression.
2.A Operation Fast & Furious was a gunwalking sting operation carried out under the Arizona office of the ATF, and was targeted at so-called "straw purchasers", in other words, people who buy guns and then illegally resell them to someone else. 'According to twenty-year ATF veteran Jay Wachtel, letting guns "walk" has been a practice done in a controlled manner that involved surveillance and eventual seizure of the weapons. "The idea was that you would follow it long enough until you were sure you had enough probable cause".' The idea was to track the guns to the cartels and then arrest the cartel leaders. The operation was poorly carried out and guns were lost. Tragically, one of them was used to kill Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. President Obama had no part in authorizing the operation, your statement is a right-wing fantasy,

  3. He does favor a ban on certain types of guns, with which I disagree. He also favors improved background checks, with which I agree wholeheartedly. Don't you? But whatever his opinions, the fact remains that not a single proposal for any gun ban was proposed by President Obama during any of his eight years in office, not even a renewal of the Brady Bill. And he never proposed confiscation of anyone's legally owned guns. In fact, gun ownership skyrocketed during his term. President Obama was the best thing to ever happen to the gun industry.

  4. He favored lower taxes on the middle class and no taxes on the poor. He favored getting government out of our private lives. Regulating industrial polluters and the financial sector, on the other hand, where billionaires get rich by ripping off small investors (sort of the way Trump made his money), is another story.

  5. Here are President Obama's full remarks on the Trayvon Martin case. [obamawhitehouse.archives.gov] I don't see anything in there that counts as "siding with". I see sympathy for the family, I see acknowledgement of the fact that racial profiling is a thing, and I see acknowledgement that any young black man could find himself in the wrong place at the wrong time and get shot to death by an idiot like George Zimmerman. When you say Trayvon Martin was a "thug and a criminal", are you basing that on his complete absence of a criminal record, his history of cutting grass and babysitting to earn money, and his graduation from a student aviation experience program, or are you basing it on the fact that he wore a hoodie?

  6. Again, you're staggeringly and ridiculously wrong. The founders of BLM are Patrisse Khan-Cullors,
Alicia Garza, and Opal Tometi. It's on the website. Do you even look this stuff up?

  7. You're going to have to state something specific for this one. Bush (GW) circumvented Congress and ignored the Constitution, much more than Obama ever thought of, with his executive orders and use of the Patriot Act and "faith-based education" directly countervening the 1st Amendment. Trump is more arrogant than any five Presidents combined, and his orders on immigration alone were found by numerous judges, all the way up to the Supreme Court, to be unconstitutional. Obama is a lawyer, he knows and respects the law better than anyone.

  8. He appointed liberal judges who don't interpret the law the way you want them to.

  9. How do you define "little gain"? We wouldn't see the results for years... on the other hand, right now we're seeing the results of climate change that started decades ago, and if we don't do something, it will only get worse. We have no choice but to act. Of course, Republicans' favorite approach to climate change is to deny the science and kick the can down to future generations.

  10. Morsi was democratically elected by the people of Egypt, without Obama's support. We fulfilled existing contracts with the government of Egypt. How many more straws do you have to clutch?

  11. Ah, another straw. "Completely loony and made no sense"... yes, the environment makes no sense at all compared to corporate profits, what was he thinking.

There's no Kool-Aid, it's simply that you have an emotional, nay, religious commitment to hating everything about the Democrats and President Obama in particular, who is your Antichrist. You haven't given up religion, you've simply made politics your religion. And Trump is your God.

@Paul4747 If you really believe the radical Muslim clerics running Iran well honour any agreement you are quite delusional.
I have no problem with background checks as long as there is no national database as that is the first step to confiscation but they won’t help much as most guns used in crimes are stolen or purchased from straw purchasers.
Obama enacted a lot of idiotic
environmental regulations through his EPA director Gina Mcarthy without ever going through Congress.
Morsi May have been democratically elected but he belonged to the radical Muslim brotherhood and wanted to impose Sharia law. When he was elected it should have threw up a huge red flag and we should have stopped arms shipments. Fortunately for us he was overthrown.
If we listened to the radical environmental idiots like Al Gore who said the artic would be ice free by 2013 or Ocasio Cortez who said this country would end in 12 years this country would have major problems as there’s no way we could feed and house this country anytime in the near future on 100% green energy.

Your understanding of geopolitics is underwhelming as ever.
It wasn't Obama's deal. Actual experts who truly know what they were doing devised that plan and the EU signed on along with many other countries.
You are simply opposed to it because Obama was president without any real rationale beyond that fact. Please provide evidence from credible sources (can't stress this enough) of any violations of the agreement by Iran. The short answer is that you won't find any.
Or, you can carry on being overly emotional and oblivious to reality.
Honestly, despite being an atheist, you have not crawled out from under the religious boot on your neck because the indoctrination still owns you and your fear. I wish you luck in overcoming irrational thought at every level, but it's unlikely because the grip of fear and religion smothered you far too long.

If you believe Iran is a friend to the US and will abide by any deal done with us you are very misinformed. Hell the radical Muslim clerics running that country could never be trusted to honour any deal as they are intent on spreading radical Shiite Islam throughout the world. Did you not read the OAN news link I posted?

@Trajan61
I don't believe anything you think I believe. You are assuming and projecting.

No, OAN is not a credible source.

Do you know what rhetoric means? You are not self aware of your own fear. Overcome that so we can talk.

It was Iran’s money to begin with not our friend the Shaw and if we can at slow them down on becoming weaponized nuclear then any leader should want that.

The Shaw may have gotten closer to building a nuc than the current admin. In 72 Nixon shut him down. Nixon may have been a drunken dick (pun intended) but he did do some good on occasion.

@Beowulfsfriend Yeah I’d heard that before but I’ve never seen it but you’re the second to say that he was pushing the nuclear envelope.
So good to know ??

@48thRonin There is a whole list of countries caught in the 70's. Some I read about, some I studied in college, some we discussed in the military in school. And some got away with it: Israel and South Africa - and we knew - I saw photos of a water blast. The Navy said send everything back to DC, it was not a nuc, it was phosphorescent fish rising to the surface. I can speak about this because 1 - long past seven years and 2 - South Africa admitted to it in 85. I just discovered that even though they dismantled their bombs, they still have 40 pounds of enriched uranium. Four to eight pounds to make a bomb, do the math.

@Beowulfsfriend Yeah me and someone else was just talking about who has nukes and it’s pretty damn surprising to see all that do now.

That money should have been forfeit as Iran committed an act of war when they seized the US Embassy.

@Trajan61 And in April of 2001 China put bullets in a US navy recon plane and took the crew hostage and openly declared them as being prisoners of war.

And the last time I checked we still owe them a few trillion fucking dollars for financing our heroine manufacturing industry in Afghanistan and getting W revenge for his fucking diddy.

Which by the fucking way probably would’ve been avoided if we’d given Iran it’s traitorous leader and their money so that they would’ve most likely keep fighting Iraq.

But I guess that the weapons we gave them in exchange for those hostages that was part of the plan that ironically helped kick off the crack epidemic with of the cocaine that we brought into our country.

That eventually led to refugees fleeing the war that eventually led to the creation of MS13 which we have declared our biggest internal threat btw.

Because we were funding a rebel force because even though we can literally surround the western border of Russia all day long but if any country within our hemisphere declares themselves as allies with Russia/soviet union we lose our shit and create a problem that has always landed at our doorstep.

I’m just saying that I’m in no way a liberal who loves certain foreign countries because we sell our people out to Saudi Arabia and Israel for what because of our countries religious beliefs as well as our alliance with Britain who basically fathered the whole middle eastern shit show in the first place.

But at the same time I can’t support the mentality of making a country our enemy because we fucked them over.

2

Only an idiot would think it was President Obama’s deal because that’s what he keeps pushing as one of his million lies. That deal is multinational. The orange buffoon pulling out had no forethought nor did he consult with intelligence. It’s a complete political stunt like everything else.
The intelligence reports last week stated they were not in violation of the agreement.

He CAN'T consult with intelligence. The laws of physics prohibit the two from occupying the same space at the same time.

1

You're going to praise Trump and call Obama an idiot? Wow! You like really short conversations don't you. I'm not the idiot whisperer so bye!

@Pbpierson2 well this fool has been posting irrational hate speech for quite awhile on this site. He has no room for debate.

@Pbpierson2 Technically, he's a Republican troll who insults anyone who disagrees with him. Take it from someone who knows.

@Pbpierson2 a trait found in the mentally unstable.

Really? And here I thought the US had the top spot. Silly me...
