Sure signs of the impending return of Persephone. 2 Ladybugs on the inside of my window. Squirrels playing catch me, catch me. Downy woodpecker pair scoping possible nest sites. Trees are replete with tiny icicles, but they are melting. Indoor plants are sending out shoots. Won't be long now & I can start some seeds.

South Central PA has: return of hibernating animals; randy birds; the doves, mates, are back, early; warm winds; our groundhog agreed with Phil (Octorara Orphie). And yet, in all our current warmth, the weather prognosticators are calling for snow next week.

Snowrops and crocuses blooming here, daffodils soon will be too!

The snowdrops bloomed before Christmas here. Now the UK Meteorological Office is warning we might top a 1.5C increase in global average temperatures within five years.

Looks like we didn't get our shit together in time.
