Things like this are the reason I basically have avoided the South as much as I could all my life.
I mean, I don't want to stereotype an entire region, but... I've never heard of a "blackface party" anywhere BUT the South since, like, the 1800s. I don't get it.

@PalacinkyPDX Okay, then I'm just way the frak out of touch. I have other reasons for avoiding the South, though.
Confederate flags. Snakes. Deep-frying Snickers bars.
@PalacinkyPDX Bill Clinton is a Southerner... he's okay in my book.
It's possible to argue he's a rare exception, of course... but I don't want to discard an entire section of the nation just because of geography. There are some pretty bad counties right here in Michigan, after all.
@PalacinkyPDX I concede the argument, and now I go arise to take sustenance. I'm thinking microwave enchiladas. (Healthy Choice.)
