i am always surprised by the girls with whom i worked spouting prayers and verses from their gospel while ALSO seeing psychics and running numbers for numerology.

@Lillyfield41 -- True, but that is not as weird as someone professing to be an atheist who is burdened with many other superstitions and woo. Now, I realize that not believing in gods is a separate issue in a way, but it is curious to me that one might reject one element of the supernatural and not extend that to all the rest. It is, nonetheless a common thing.
It is as if people give up one addiction for another rather than quitting that one and while riding that inertia begin to contemplate the effects of all the others. Just a thing of curiosity for me.
