Abortion is like cheating. You can't stop it so it's best to be able to know because it will be done by people who may be less than qualified. [msn.com]

I'm not sure i understand what you are saying.

How is abortion like cheating?

And the persons performing abortions are still qualified to do the procedure. The law in question necessitates the doctors in clinics to have admitting rights to local hospitals. My GYN has admitting rights to one of the hospitals in philly and not another. in fact, i have 4 kids that were birthed in 4 different hospitals because he kept changing affiliations. recently i had to have a growth cut out from my uterus and had to see a partner of his because he is no longer able to perform surgery (nerve damage in his hand). i am not sure if he has admitting rights anymore, because he may not need them? I will still see him as long as he practices because he is experienced and we have a rapport. The point is, doctors can practice medicine without admitting rights.

One can know or not know but it will still be done so laws to prevent it will only drive people to other methods that could be dangerous.

@IAJO163 But how is it cheating?

@Lillyfield41 It's not cheating nor did I say it was. I said it was "like" cheating. My philosophy on cheating is that no matter how much people wish that it wouldn't happen, it's been happening for forever and it won't stop. There are only two options. One can tell their partner about it or they can lie. Connecting it to this issue is people will continue to have abortions and they can get them done legally or illegally but it won't stop them.

@IAJO163 i still don't understand what you are saying. But thats okay.

@Lillyfield41 Can I ask, "How do you feel about cheating in relationships?" When in a relationship, do you demand fidelity?

@IAJO163 i don't demand anything in a relationship. i forge a friendship and have expectation for mutual respect.

@Lillyfield41 I'm only relating what we see from the general populace. It's in our music, movies and TV.

People have forgotten or maybe never knew of the days when women would take their friends hours away to some pretty shady places to have abortions...women died from trying to do it themselves with coat hangers, drugs, and even getting punched in the stomach by their boyfriends in attempts to have an abortion.

Limiting access to people who can't afford to drive far from home, their jobs, their children, is targeting the poor mostly. Rich people will always find a way and a safe place.

This is positive news...women should be able to make their own choices safely and conveniently.

Thank you for remembering. So many have forgotten the horrendous way it was performed illegally in the past.

@IAJO163 I personally drove many women to Chicago and Philly to get barely legal abortions back in the day...even though they were performed by legit doctors, it was difficult to get appointments and it was expensive...women who could not go did horrible things to their bodies...drank all sorts of drugs, herbs, etc. Knitting needles...it makes me cringe and cry remembering the suffering and cost to their health and even lives...this should not happen in a modern country like ours
