I'm also tempted by a marriage of convenience if this country goes through with Brexit. However, it's not just as simple as finding someone who will tie the knot. You would have to demonstrate that it's a real relationship and meet other residency and national requirements, and you would have to pay for that. Generally it would take years unless you are so rich you can fast-track the process with a substantial financial investment.

You don’t need to speak Irish to live in Ireland, the majority don’t speak it....English is the language spoken by everyone except in the Gaeltacht areas of Donegal and down the West Coast...and even there they all speak English too. I might be taking myself over the border to the Irish Republic too, soon after Brexit. If Scotland ever get their independence back, I will move back there. The other countries I like are Norway and Italy. Norway for their dramatic scenery, good governance and happy population and Italy for its, food, wine, scenery, sun, people (esp. the men!), history...need I go on? Btw Im free to remarry too, but that would be a step too far!!
