Recent despair had a silver lining. I woke up 2 days ago with no heat and no electric in one room at the far end of my mobile home. Power would try to come on in that room and my furnace for 15 seconds, then reset and try again. I had no idea what to do and it looked like a severe problem. I was ready to call in sick to take care of it. That's when I decided to see if my neighbors had a problem also.

Outside I find that the electric company has arrived and they are replacing a lug in the main transformer. The lug went bad and one of the wires came out of the transformer so it kept trying to reset. The neighbors had found their problem before I found mine and they had called in. They fixed it all in less than a half hour.

We can thank Zeus for that one. 🙂

Glad it wasn't your furnace....those are really costly these days....

I have good insurance but I think replacement on a furnace would still cost me $500 plus the labor.
