"Every effect must have a cause which is itself an effect of a prior cause. This chain cannot be infinite or we could never have got to the present moment, therefore there must have been a first cause, and that was God."
--"But then what caused God?"

The "first cause" argument is ridiculous. It should be ridiculed often.
