Letter to my Republican Senator on Presidential Harrassment.
Congressional oversight is an integral part of the United States’ system of checks and balances. As my senator representing the State of ____ in Congress, I ask you to ensure that the critical roll of congressional oversight not be diminished or allowed to be delegitimized. Trump's recent claim that he is the victim of "Presidential harassment" is his attempt to do exactly that.
This situation calls for strong public statements from you. The investigations into how or whether the Trump organization cooperated with, or is compromised by financial or other ties to the criminal Putin organization is 100% legitimate and necessary. The special counsel's investigation carries the force of law, is based on obvious concerns of the nation (many raised by the Presidents own bizarre and suspicious behavior in office) - and has in fact uncovered serious felony crimes in his cabinet and close circle of associates.
If this president has ties to, and financial interests with Russian money, investors, or anyone in the orbit of Putin (or if dirty Russian money was laundered through his real estate business) - then he lied to the American people and may have sold-out our national interests in favor of his own personal interests. This is very serious. The trust of the nation is at stake.
Don't let Trump get away with perpetrating fraud against your constituents, or betraying his country. Don't let him imply that investigations into these topics represent a phoney witch hunt.

Well said I will use some of it in my own letter.

Republican - few of them care of their duties. Most seem to only care for the power and money that being puppets bring. Also, there is the fear factor and it's easier for some of them to just go along.

Good work. I’m now trying to fathom what’s going through your Senator’s (Staff member’s - shall I pass this on?) head…

Will I have a candidate in the Primary willing to do the same, thus lose this voter if I do not? What will trump’s poll numbers be when I’m next up and how prevalent is his base in this state?

What pending legislation would be compromised if I fired up ‘this level’ of contention at this moment? Which contributions do I fear losing most, those from active individuals like this, or corporate contributors hedging their bets that I'll win again…

None are reasons not to have written ..but the more I learn.. the more I wonder 😕

Yes, but we all know that Trump thinks rules do not apply to him. He tells us that repeatedly and then talks about something else. His GOP then gives him a free pass. Now he is getting angry because some of us are trying to stop it.
