Anyone else ethically vegan?
I’m not sure what “ethically vegan” means. The reality of life on earth is that in order for one species to survive, it must find an energy source from some other species. Whether it’s plant based or animal based, it’s still taking one life for another. This is the way nature set it up. It makes sense in a way, but would be awesome if there were other ways.
That being said, torturing our food is, for lack of a better word, an abomination. Just because it’s food, doesn’t mean that it has to suffer.
Nope.
Mostly vegetarian, but not strict about it.
I like to know where my meat and fish comes from, only eat free range eggs.
Dislike factory farming though.
I'm a vegetarian Whatever eggs I eat come from a humane farm. I am sometimes tempted to eat a little meat but don't. I am so happy not to partake in the horrendous cruelty being fostered upon livestock animals. And unexpectedly, I feel so well. I am alkaline for the first time in my life. They say disease cannot live in an alkaline body.
The alkaline part is BS and you are putting your health in risk.
@sarahjustme Food for thought.
@Michael64 @sarahjustme @think-beyond This is a well-written article targeting us lay people with scholarly sources if you wish to dig deeper: [insufferableintolerance.com]
@sarahjustme Agreed. There is no necessary connection between urine and blood. Which is one of the points in the post I linked to. But some things are eliminated partially, like steroids or cocaine, others only metabolites. So though urine is still urine, it hints to what the body is doing -- the main claim of alkaline diet. Also, the body has a certain capacity for homeostasis. Take in too much water and you will get ill, no matter how much you pee.
What I'm trying to say is: no, urine is not a mirror of blood; but you should not ignore it. And if someone tries to sell you something, demand evidence and not pseudoscience.
I eat eggs, too. They come from an organic farm. The shells are so thick and strong and the yolks firm and a deep color.
