Do you get upset when the do not call list simply does not work. I am receiving as many as 20 calls a day and when I block them they simply use a different phone number with the same message.

Isn't the Do Not Call list maintained by the government? Oh well, can't rely on them for everything...

Sorry to hear that, I too deal with such almost every day, and most annoying it is.

All you can do is just keep reporting them. Donotcall.gov was shut down during the shutdown.

My call is on speed dial.

Yes! I've been getting those threatening ones: if you don't buy this or pay for that, the IRS/FBI/CIA is going to get you...instant block/report

I downloaded the MrNumber app. It catches 99% of spam calls.

Just added it to my phone, looks good.

I never answer unless the caller is on my contacts list. Anything important, the caller will leave a message. 99% of the unknown callers never leave a message.

i have a list on one phone of people who are important. fuck the rest of them.

I experience that problem too. although I usually just get about 7-10 per week. I have gotten to the point to where if they don't come up on my caller ID, as someone in my contacts list, I just let it go to voicemail.

I have called back a few times and the fake number they use is often a residential number that belongs to somebody and nobody at that number called me. Thus, let it go to voicemail and it they meant to call you they can leave a message.

No I like getting calls. I have no friends 😉

I have blocking on my cell and landline but the number of callers per day is still terrible and I am unable to tell the real calls I want from the fake calls. I do not understand why the do not call list does not work better . i was told that these unwanted callers would be fined but that does not seem to be the case.

Evidently there is equipment that can generate fake numbers in the caller ID, which often belong to real people who have nothing to do with the actual "caller".

If you don't answer calls you don't recognize on caller ID and let it go to voicemail, you may get fewer calls. Legitimate callers will leave a message.

@snytiger6 What you described above is referred to as spoofing, and there are even smartphone apps that can generate both temporary phone numbers and email addresses.

This was a recorded message for Mr SnyTiger by the way, have a nice day.
