I never realized that it is taboo.
Certainly I suggest a subject that the "me too" brigade should be widely promoting and supporting as an aid to benefitting everyone and even hopefully obviating the need for another disgruntled woman joining their ranks.

I still find it difficult to believe that in 1994 the US Surgeon General was forced to resign for discussing the issue of masturbation. [en.m.wikipedia.org]

"The Man Behind the World's Most Famous Fake Vagina
Steve Shubin wants us to talk more about touching ourselves. He's baffled as to why dildos have become an acceptable brunch conversation topic while male sex toys remain taboo."

OK peeps what are your views from male and female perspectives regarding male masturbation?

This sort of thing was not even on my radar at that time, I was in a relationship, working to fund the building of our house (he was doing the actual building) while trying to figure out what I was going to do for a living in the future as my job in the printing industry was being phased out by computers.
With today's mind in mind I think it's rediculous, ignorant, stupid, etc.
I also do not care what others do to pleasure themselves but good sex education without all the moral issues Christians attach to sex is extremely important. The moral issue is what got him canned.

Who gives a toss?

Well if the following video is true then I do!

(This is what you get when you search Google for the song "My orgasm is but one quick toss away.".)

And Dr Wade seems to think it is beneficial:

I must move in very restrained and genteel circles, or maybe it’s just because I’m old, but I have never discussed with any of my friends, at brunch or at any other time, whether we masturbate, either with or without a dildo. I have no idea what other people do to relieve sexual tensions or to pleasure themselves, nor would I wish to ask them. There seem to be a vast array of sex toys available on the market, for both men and women, some to enjoy with a partner and others for solo fun, so buy and use whatever tickles your fancy...if you’ll pardon the expression ! As for masturbation by hand...I’m sure that is is old as humanity itself, and is a natural human activity, it makes us feel good and anything that good can’t be bad. Religions don’t want us to feel good without their permission, so have told us it’s a sin, they want us to procreate and populate with new converts instead of wasting all that potential life by wanking. In any case we all realise by now that the biggest bunch of wanking hypocrites around are the religious. The Surgeon General should have been given a medal not made to resign for her bravery in talking about the subject of human sexuality which has such fake prudery around it, especially in the USA. These right wing religious types are so repressed and obsessed with sex that they are like ticking time bombs, I would hate to have been married to one of them, and I’d have been expected to produce a string of mini-me replicas!

People are mammals, mammals enjoy nice feelings. Its your body, no one else's business.

Speaking of that I had a little terrier called Duke shower me with affection and licks today in the local PAWS shop. It was most heartrending.

@FrayedBear awwww did you take pics?

@Amisja no I don't think to besides which the phone usually runs and hides when I say "selfie".

Lol, not sure why you tagged me on this but here goes. I must not be in line with the norm. I know men masturbate but didn't realize it was such a taboo subject. As far as sex toys for men, more power to them. Again, I'm not aware of what's available, but if it works, I have no objections. As far as a partner using sex toys, why would that be a problem? I'd much rather my partner use a sex toy then to feel he needs to go outside the relationship. I don't have much experience with toys except for my B.o.b. (battery operated boyfriend) but I'm open to the idea of experimenting. The men that I've known usually masturbate by hand not with toys. I'd be interested to see how many guys actually use a toy to masturbate. I think it's like most things that seem to be taboo... the more you talk about it the more socially acceptable it becomes.
