I am in love...love love love. My wonderful sister got me a new Bernina sewing machine and I got my first ever new fridge. I love my new appliances. You can't know what it feels like to being able to do things like this for myself. I almost feel like a proper grown up.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.From 16 until 50 years of age a man controled my money (second one very badly). Everything was given or secondhand. My washing machine had a brush up to it to keep the door shut. I had no credit card, no access to savings and had to ask for everything. Money for kids was met with eyerolls and I basically wore rags. (Charity shop fodder). I have since (with my lovely bank manager Arif) sorted out my finances for me. I discovered I do have a little money that matures in 3 years and I can do this. I am not rich, not where I thought I'd be but I am me.

@Amisja What? I been right here. Lol. If I do have a prom dress pattern it would be old and way out of style.

@OwlInASack Come over. I now own 6 sewing machines but this new one is the best. I would suggest making some cushion covers to start off with.
