Because they are not doing things that are physically dangerous, just a guess.

An interesting article, however, I have to say that my late brother was a voracious reader who read more than twenty five hours a week and he died when he was fifty three years old. It is not unusual in many parts of rural China or Vietnam to encounter farmers who are in their late nineties or older who have never read a book in their life.

I am inclined to think that some form of daily exercise or work coupled with diet are the main reasons for longevity.

How would you control for things like genetics, environment, disease?

I'm sorry but I think the result of this survey is wrong.here in Brazil, illiterates live longer than people who can write.

I need to read more, so I will have more years to maybe finish the book pile that I have now XD
