I don't necessarily need to check in with social media but I do want at least 3 bars. I don't like mosquitos. Also, if I'm not feeling it I have a vehicle, actually 4 vehicles, I am OK getting there in A/C comfort. As for the death part, I think that's a little extreme, how about "Ride or be less sanguine about current activities" or "Ride or watch Netflix", I'm not a rebel.
