Two truths and a lie. A game.

You tell me two truths and one lie about yourself. I’ll guess the one that is false.

Ex:

  1. I’ve met and conversed with Tina Fey.
  2. I’ve been to Spain, Mexico, and (live in) the United States.
  3. I’ve blown up hundreds of balloons for a Brooks and Dunn concert.

Which one is the lie?

@cercatrova Yup! I was only an extra in two major movies..Secretariat, and Seabiscuit, since I lived near Lexington, KY, so could be in the Keeneland race track and Churchill Downs scenes for the major horse races in the movies. I got $100 a day, catered lunches, got to hang with stars, so it was all good.

  1. back in the early internet of the 90s, I wrote one of those joke essays that everyone shares via email and on facebook. At the very least 10s of millions of people have read it, and you there reading this. You have read it. I am the original unaccredited author. It has been translated into multiple languages.

  2. For half of college I was completely on loans. When I graduated college I had a lawyer send a fax to my creditors telling them to stop calling me. He did this at 5:29 pm on a friday of a 3 day weekend. I knew how to screw up their auto-dialer and did it. They called me almost non-stop for 3 days. Each call resulted in a fine. By tuesday morning they had accumulated so many fines that my entire debt was erased.

  3. I used to work in the theater and women there convinced me to do the drag show. I won. It was humiliating and I burned all records of it. My eyebrows were a loss cause, as were my hands but the wig suited me and so id the lipstick. We won the drag show and our theater got a fairly large payment. I only agreed because I thought it would impress a girl I liked who worked there as well, it did but we never ended up dating.

These are EPIC. I want them all to be true.

Hard pressed to guess, the loan thing.... but I desperately hope I’m wrong.

I’m going to guess #3. Breaking a jaw is hard.

You are correct! I’ve never been out of the country.

I guess I'll give it some more time before I reveal.

#3 is the lie.

  1. The place I used to work had celebrities coming through all the time.

  2. When I was like 16 or 17, my friend and I were throwing snowballs over houses. One of them had to be packed really tightly or had ice in it. Apparently, we broke a window. Some guy came around the corner and asked me if I knew what time it was. I lifted my arm to see my watch and he grabbed my arm. I pulled my arm away and my friend and I ran. He must have called the cops before he came around the corner because as soon as we ran, we saw a cop car coming down the street with it's sirens going off. My friend and I ran down an alley, up a garage wall, and jumped off the other side of the garage wall. It was about 10 feet high maybe. We turned our jackets inside out and ran up blocks where cars were coming towards us so the cop car would have to go around the block to see us. I don't think we've ever ran as fast or had our hearts race as quickly lol. It wasn't something really serious, but we ran from the cops and escaped nonetheless lol

  3. Both of my brothers, and my sister, are 10-11-12 years older than me. So when they were in their teens, I was barely walking. When I was old enough, we didn't have anything to fight about. It would have been really bad if I said I broke my sisters jaw, but a lot less believable lol

Lol nope, #1 is the truth

Oooo these are tough! Number 2 is my guess. Family bonds don’t always mean everything. And I can see the other two being real.

#1 is totally true! I have a picture of me talking to her somewhere.

I did climb Popocatepetl. I never won a prize for a short story, although I like to consider myself something of a wordsmith nowadays.

I did blow up the balloons for a balloon drop for one of their concerts. Me and 3 other people. It was cool!
