Sadly, as societies evolve, this is pretty standard, until those at the bottom rise up and revolt. Or the social structure collapses because of the greed. Our time is coming.

if the people on the bottom rise up & revolt the people fairly well paid (military, police) will mow them down. it happened at Kent state & when WW1 vets marched on washington & it could happen on a vey large scale.
there will be a collapse and then an Orwellian world.

@callmedubious, Kent State was hardly an uprising. If you want to compare do it with major uprisings: the French Revolution, Mao in China, Vietnam, more recently the Arab Spring and Ukraine. It’s never pretty, and I hope our Constitution is strong enough to prevent the complete takeover of our government by a theocratic supported Oligarchy without a complete collapse of society. We survived the first Civil War, the second would be worse.

@Barnie2years ,
it wasn't an uprising but it just shows that the military had no compunction about killing unarmed civilians. i would think that they have even less now.
