I say this out of genuine regard and a desire for more members to be understood more clearly.
"Insight" means an understanding of the true nature of an idea, or concept.
"Incite" means to arouse anger and encourage violent behavior.
That is all. Enjoy your day.
I encourage people to correct me when I make a mistake, and I know you are sincere in wanting to educate people, but is there really anybody on this site that doesn't know the difference between these two words? If there is wouldn't it be better to correct them directly rather than to post the correction where it is unlikely that they are ever going to see it? This is the third such post I have seen in the last couple weeks. I'm sorry but I can't help but feel condescension when I see posts like this. Maybe I take them too personally, but I cannot avoid them and they just seem to be an insult to our intelligence. I could see this post being addressed to the public at large but I really feel that our membership has above average intelligence and education.
You are free to take it however you please.
How you have taken it, and how I meant it are two entirely different things.
I've been labelled a grammar Nazi for less. Not that I care.
I do violently respect you!!! Keeping the ignorant in line ain't easy .
LOL
That made me snort.
You're hilarious.
My boss was the absolute worst when it came to spelling and grammar. One year - for christmas - I wrapped up a copy of a book I had found quite by accident called the "Comma Sutra" - tongue in cheek - it was all about grammar and spelling. When he tore off the wrapping paper his mind immediately went to "kama sutra" and he turned red and looked like he was about to die of embarrassment - hehehehe. I "got" him just about every year.....
Nicely done!!!
