I would like to know if the hen who laid those big boys in the center survived the ordeal.

yes she did. good question

I am sure that those two in the middle must be duck eggs or it is the mother of all chickens who has laid them.

amazingly these are all from chickens and the same age. I have to say I gaze in awe at those two big ones

it looks so much more natural than all the same color and size eggs that you get at the store.. and they taste so much better

any guineas? turkeys? nice shot.

all chickens

I had a turkey once but didnt have much luck with him laying eggs

@btroje my one teacher friend, physics, would lay out an entire question at the end of the final for extra credit with a "rooster" on a roof point, wind direction, angles of both roof sides, etc and ask which way the egg would fall for extra credit. Most would attempt to find an answer, and many, had it been a "chicken" would have been correct. He only gave extra points to those who said roosters don't lay eggs.

@Beowulfsfriend - do people really know the difference between the looks of a rooster vs a hen? Or did the prof say rooster? People can be awfully stoopid!!

@Rustee he wrote rooster. Many people can tell.

@Beowulfsfriend - good to know!
