Religious dogma may be questionable, but here is a shining example of religious sincerity - in the name of humanity and science.

There have always been good people in all religions. I would say the majority are good people. There are always shining examples as well as really evil examples.

So he "belongs" to, works for, is a member of, the catholic church, a church that has the greatest wealth of all religions, and yet he doesn't have enough text books, nor classrooms, and he thinks his challenge is to educate the poor uneducated parents of children in Africa that their children need education. Perhaps he needs to look inside his own "family" and convince THEM of the importance of children's education, as opposed to owning art, land, gold, and such.

You have obviously NEVER been to Africa, or you would not have made such a biased comment. Go there, see for yourself what it is like.

I guess that some fierce atheists would say that this wonderful man was so nice despite his faith

Which is the ultimate arrogance and hubris to claim to know this mans life and experiences and belittle them with no context or understanding of the truth of his life.

He is what the people who want to be religious should be, he is an example of a true xian.

yes it is! makes one wonder why that kind of religious sincerity has become so rare and almost never in the developed world... nor does the behaviour of most agnostics/atheists replace it.

I find that the most public and vocal of both are quite often the worst as they have the time to grab the limelight as it were whereas most people are busy living and striving to live a good life.
