When you don't understand what logic is; or that existential claims have a metric by which their validity can be determined; or that there are rules to intellectual discourse; and if you do not care to understand anything beyond that which you wish to be true, then you cannot demand or expect respect for your beliefs and opinions.

I don't really care whether people respect my beliefs or opinions and haven't since my mid twenties.

nor do i. my point tho is that no one should expect apriori respect for a belief or opinion they hold. not unless it is proven that the idea or belief is logically respectable.
"... and if you do not care to understand anything beyond that which you wish to be true,..." The anti-gun view that the Second Amendment is not about the right to have military style guns.
