@RoadGoddess: Actually, it's about 'unawareness...' People create lists like this because they don't understand language and how it works in the first place. Words are merely symbols on which we hang meaning. It's the CONTEXT that gives them meaning. For example, I will never use the N' word, but it's all over my music playlist, and isn't considered a problem at all by those who use it. The word hand, theoretically means an appendage on the end of our arms, but we use it in many more ways. Lend a hand, give that guy a hand, handouts, all of which depend on context. The F word, which to some is offensive, to other is used as a noun, a verb, even an adverb.

Awareness means understanding intent, context, and even the social strictures about which they're used. This is why lists don't (and can't) work.
