I usually already have my plate 1/2 loaded and am passing the servings around the table. Awkward, do you keep rolling or pause...

Since they have their heads bowed, I just look ahead. The only ones who would see me haven't bowed their heads either. What are they going to say?

It's so hard to know. It's so downright presumptuous and egotistical. Then again, if you were an atheist with a very understanding nature, you could put it down to ignorance and let it pass. In this situation, I think the atheist is manifesting the Christian fruits of the spirit more than the Christian.

@traceyanarchist Time for cocoa?

If it's the host I'll be "respectful" and wait until they are finished. If it's another guest at the table that wasn't asked to do so, I have no qualms over dishing up and going about dinner conversation.

I just act polite. No need upsetting anyone.

Exactly. Be respectful. No use starting a ruckus.

Keeping my head up, I sit quietly and respectfully with my eyes open. I try not to snort with suppressed laughter.

Like @Allamanda, when people want to hold hands in a circle, I'm good with that.
