Snakes make awesome pets. They don’t have fleas, ticks, don’t bark, don’t shed hair everywhere, don’t drool, don’t smell, eat once or twice a month, poop once or twice a month and are anti stress. I can’t understand people that don’t like snakes, they are awesome pets...much better than mouses, rats, hamsters, rabbits, birds, turtles and other “domesticated “ or so called “pets”.
Sushi was adopted from a person that bought him and later abandoned him.
Come at me haters!

Sounds like a heap of laughs, and why do you call anyone who doesn't agree with keeping wild animals as pets "haters". I can't speak for anyone else here but I don't hate anyone.

@Moravian it wasn’t personal, I just know that most people don’t like snakes, and it is also one of the reasons why I kept him, he also works as anti burglary, right closed to a glass door. You’ll be surprised of how many people will avoid coming in thru that door. ?

@Moravian it isn’t wild if it was born in captivity.

@EllieUnique by wild animals I was meaning animals other than the usual domesticated pets. I know some animals born in captivity cannot then be returned to the wild. Don't know about snakes.
I have heard it said that there are more of one of the big cats, can't remember if it was one of the tiger species or leopard , in captivity or as pets in America than live in the wild.

I find that very sad and think we should be protecting their habitat rather than keeping them in an artificial state.

@Moravian I knew what you meant, I was just being a “smart ass”...
Anyway, I never saw snakes on pet shops in Brazil, nor in Europe, only in USA, they breed and sell snakes, and they should bever be returned to nature, since they’re not at their natural habitat and would become an invasive species damaging the environment.

And here is an example of that !!

@Moravian and that’s why I’ll keep him for his whole 35 years of age, when he’ll probably die from natural causes. Keeping my clean conscience, certain that I’m doing nothing wrong and don’t deserve to be judged that harshly.

Could never understand people who keep non domesticated animals as pets

I could never understand why some people need to have a house full of cats...

@EllieUnique nor me

@Moravian I forgot... I can always eat him, like people do in innumerable countries...It’s a very lean meat, like frogs.

I would try that. I have tried frogs legs and found it a bit like a cross between fish and chicken

@Moravian exactly that, one of the best meats out there, I already tried when I was younger. I’ve tasted frogs, snake, crocodile, capivara, armadillo, ants, scorpions, crickets and I will try anything exotic at least once.

@EllieUnique I bet you haven't tried haggis as it is illegal to import it into the USA

@Moravian I didn’t even knew what Haggis was, had to google... but sheep is not that exotic though.

@EllieUnique No it's not exotic but it is made from the bits of the sheep that you would probably throw away like lungs, heart etc. mixed with oatmeal and onions and seasoning.
It is mostly eaten around 25 January to celebrate the birth of the bard, Robert Burns

@Moravian in Brazil we have Feijoada, a dish invented by the slaves, that uses all the parts of the pig, that their owners would throw out (ears, nose, tail, blood), and black beans....it’s what my mom cooks for me when I go back home, my favorite.

@EllieUnique Sounds delicious mmm. I believe they used to say you can eat every part of the pig but it's. grunt.

@Moravian yes...the pig is the most generous of all animals...even it’s heart is comparable to ours.

Out of curiosity, do you have a plan for what you will do when Sushi gets to large to handle?

Ball pythons never grows that much, and there’s no such a thing as too large to handle. He is part of the family for 13 years already.
